Customer Care
Terms & Conditions
Terms for shopping with Braai Boet & Gasaholics in South Africa. Your statutory consumer rights always apply.
1. Our store and these terms
Braai Boet & Gasaholics supplies braai and camping accessories and gas supplies in South Africa. These terms apply to purchases through this website. Read them together with the Shipping & Delivery, Returns & Refunds, Privacy Policy and Gas Safety pages linked below.
Nothing in these terms limits any non-waivable right under the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 (CPA), the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 25 of 2002 (ECTA), or other applicable South African law. If a term conflicts with those rights, the law prevails.
2. Products, descriptions and availability
We aim to describe products and display prices and photographs accurately. Check the product description, selected options and fulfilment restrictions before ordering, and contact us if anything is unclear. Photographs do not override the product description or your statutory right to receive goods as described.
Products are subject to stock availability. Items marked price to be confirmed or enquiry-only require a confirmed quotation before purchase. If an ordered item is unavailable, we will notify you and offer an agreed alternative, an agreed wait, or cancellation and a refund of amounts paid for the unavailable goods. You do not have to accept a substitute or store credit instead of a refund.
If we discover a description or pricing error, we will explain it and seek your agreement before proceeding with a correction. We will not charge a higher amount without your agreement. This does not remove any rights you have regarding advertised prices or an already concluded transaction.
3. Prices and your order total
Prices and payments are in South African rand (ZAR / R). The applicable selling prices, any eligible special or discount, and any confirmed delivery charge are shown in your order summary before payment. Review the items, quantities, fulfilment choice and total before submitting your order.
A delivery fee that still needs a quotation is not free delivery. Where delivery pricing is pending, we must confirm the fee and obtain your agreement before payment and dispatch. No additional charge will be added without your agreement. These terms make no representation about the merchant's VAT registration status.
4. Order acknowledgement and payment confirmation
Submitting an order records your request to purchase the listed goods. An order acknowledgement or order number confirms receipt of that request; it is not proof of payment, stock allocation or readiness for collection or dispatch. We confirm availability and any outstanding delivery quotation before fulfilment.
Online payment is confirmed only after verification with the payment provider. Returning to this website from a payment page, a pending payment, or an order email alone does not mean that payment has succeeded. Please quote your existing order number if payment fails or you need help, so we can check its status before you try again.
5. Payment options and card information
Online PayFast payments are completed on PayFast's hosted payment page. Card details are entered with the payment provider, not on this store's checkout, and are not stored by this store. The provider may apply its own payment terms and verification checks.
iKhokha online payment is also offered when enabled and displayed for your order, using iKhokha's hosted payment page. Pay on collection is available for eligible collection orders when shown at checkout; those orders remain unpaid until payment is received and recorded. Delivery orders require online payment after the delivery charge is confirmed. Use only the payment options actually offered for your order.
6. Collection and delivery
Collection and delivery availability depends on the product and destination. Our Shipping & Delivery page explains collection, delivery quotations, timing and restrictions. No delivery turnaround or fee is promised by these terms. Wait for confirmation that your order is ready before travelling to collect it, and bring your order number and any requested proof of payment.
Provide an accurate South African delivery address and reachable contact details. Tell us promptly if details change. Any proposed additional delivery cost must be explained and agreed, subject to your statutory rights; we do not automatically shift risks or costs to you contrary to law.
7. Cancellations, cooling off and refunds
Contact us with your order number to request cancellation or report damaged, incorrect, defective or undelivered goods. Our Returns & Refunds page explains the process. A request for photographs, packaging or proof of purchase must not be used to remove a statutory remedy.
Where ECTA section 44 applies, you may cancel an online goods purchase without reason or penalty within seven days after receiving the goods. Only the direct cost of returning the goods may be charged under that cooling-off right, and payments must be refunded within 30 days of cancellation. Statutory exclusions may apply to particular transactions or goods; we will explain any applicable exclusion rather than impose a blanket exclusion on all gas products or all purchases.
Where the CPA applies, goods must meet its quality, suitability and safety requirements. For qualifying defective goods returned within six months of delivery, you may direct a repair, replacement or refund under section 56, at the supplier's risk and expense. Further remedies may apply if a repair fails. Cooling-off exclusions do not remove rights concerning defective, unsafe or misdescribed goods.
Refunds are made through the original payment method wherever possible, subject to applicable law. You will not be compelled to accept store credit for unavailable goods or where the law entitles you to a refund. Bank or provider processing does not extend any statutory refund deadline.
8. Gas safety and restricted transport
Gas cylinders, refills and other safety-sensitive products must be handled, stored, used and transported in accordance with applicable law and the manufacturer's instructions. Read our Gas Safety page before ordering or handling gas products. Do not use a product you suspect is leaking, damaged or unsafe.
Filled cylinders and other restricted goods may not qualify for ordinary courier delivery. Collection or suitable specialised transport may be required; availability must be confirmed for your order. No deposit, exchange entitlement, installation service or certification is promised unless expressly confirmed for the specific product or service. Safety restrictions do not remove statutory consumer remedies.
9. Your information and lawful use
Provide accurate order, contact and payment information and use only payment methods you are authorised to use. Keep your account credentials secure and notify us if you suspect unauthorised activity. Do not misuse the website, attempt unauthorised access or use it for fraudulent or unlawful transactions.
Personal information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy, including information needed to process orders, arrange fulfilment and communicate with you. Payment providers process payment information under their own applicable privacy notices.
10. Responsibility and consumer protection
We remain responsible for obligations and remedies imposed on us by applicable law. Nothing here excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, gross negligence, or unsafe or defective goods where the CPA applies. These terms do not exclude liability for negligence through a blanket disclaimer.
Any assessment of loss, causation, reasonable care or responsibility will be governed by South African law and the circumstances of the claim. Website interruptions, supplier involvement or a payment provider's involvement do not automatically remove your rights against us.
11. South African law and disputes
South African law governs these terms and purchases through this website. Please contact us first so that we can try to resolve a complaint. This does not prevent you from approaching the National Consumer Commission, the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud where it has jurisdiction, a relevant provincial consumer authority, or a court or tribunal with jurisdiction. No mandatory private dispute process replaces your statutory channels or remedies.
12. Updates and customer support
We may update these terms for future orders. Changes do not retrospectively alter the terms of an already confirmed order or reduce rights that have already arisen. Keep a copy of the terms and order confirmation relevant to your purchase.
For product enquiries, order assistance, cancellations or complaints, use the verified store contact details below or our Contact page. Include your order number where available.
